Serve as a staff discipler on a Royal Servants summer mission trip, and double your impact:
- Go overseas and spread the Gospel with a traditional mission experience.
- In the process, disciple 2 to 5 younger students on your team.
Each summer we take hundreds of students on short-term mission trips around the world, and we put college-age students in the most critical, life changing role on the team—staff discipler. On a Royal Servants mission trip, students are not just a labor force to change the world. They are the purpose of our ministry. We work with them, so they can make disciples. This requires intensive discipleship on a longer trip; and you are an essential part of that.
Be A Disciple Who Makes Disciples!
As a staff discipler, you won’t just participate in the mission trip. You will be matched with 2 to 5 younger students to disciple. They will be your discipleship group, and you will:
- Work with them for the entire trip.
- Lead them into real spiritual community with one another, building a team.
- Create an environment where growth and transformation will happen—encouraging, holding accountable, and calling them to do many things they don’t believe they can do.
- Encourage them to explore God’s Word.
- Walk with them through personal challenges.
- Help them navigate the deep waters of spiritual growth.
- Model what it means to be a committed follower of Christ—a true disciple.
- Help them prepare for their ministry on the field.
- Live where they live, as they live, leading the way.
- Care for those in your group spiritually, emotionally, and physically through one of the greatest challenges your students have faced yet.
- Be an example!
At Reign Ministries we believe in students more than they believe in themselves. As a staff discipler you are critical in helping them to realize this.
It’s The Most Important Role On The Team
That is no exaggeration. Each of our mission trips provides an environment where each student will be individually mentored and challenged. We are able to provide such a high level of individual attention because of staff disciplers. The team leaders have many responsibilities for care protection and logistics. While they also fulfill an important discipleship role, they cannot give each student the level of attention, encouragement, and accountability that produces so much fruit during a Royal Servants mission trip. If that sounds scary, remember we will train you. You can do it.
We Will Train You
Does being a staff discipler sound like a big job? Don’t worry. We will help you get fully prepared. Remember we have been doing this for 30 years. We know how to equip and support you to face a new challenge also. We are always there to back you up.
- Our leadership will be there to help you and walk with you—coaching you and fielding some really heavy challenges.
- We will train you. As a staff discipler you receive a full week of specialized training to equip you.
Preparation begins with a week of training at Training Camp. That week happens the week before the students do Training Camp the third week of June. That is why the mission trip length is one week longer for staff disciplers than it is for students. During that time you will be required to experience what the students experience so you can understand what they go through and are prepared to help them through. You will also receive special training for leading your discipleship group. We will help you to understand which challenges you should try to lead and overcome and which you should turn to the team leader. That week is also important for developing a bond with the team leader and Sr. staff. You are going to share many challenges laughs and victories together.
To to on a Royal Servants mission trip and serve as a staff discipler, you must be at least 18 and have completed one year of college or be 19 or older.
Grow As You Go

Is Money For College Stopping You From Coming?
Do you want to do a mission trip but are concerned about not earning money for college? Consider your role as a staff discipler as an internship (which might be eligible for college credit), raise a little extra money, and receive a stipend to meet your income needs.
